Hey! Here is my second tip to help you get your website up and going. Check out tip #1 if you haven’t already.
When creating a website you need to have a vision. It is really hard (if not impossible) to just open up a webpage and create the website you had in mind without first having a vision of what you need and want it to be. Sometimes winging it works but it always takes more time and honestly, it is more frustrating.
I’ve created many websites in my life and having that idea has been so beneficial and helpful to me in making great sites that function well and look amazing. So my advice for the first step is sketch it out.
Sketching out what you want your website to look like, takes what is in your brain and puts it into a tangible format so that you can reference that as you are going. It helps you stay focused on what you want and need and keeps you on track.
I have also found that when I am starting a new website or WordPress theme and have an idea in my head and then I start to sketch it out, it expands on the paper. What I mean by that is I have found the act of drawing it out with my hands helps and inspires me more. I start with one thing and drawing it out helps me build upon that. So I am left with more that I thought I had.
Here are some of my sketches of my websites to give you an example of what I’m talking about. They don’t have to be fancy, mine certainly aren’t, just whatever helps you visualize your website it what you should do.

As you can see, they don’t always end up looking exactly like that but that’s the beauty of the process of building upon the original idea.
Hope this helps you as you create your website and you have a wonderful day!
