What I Use For My Self Hosted Website

As someone who sells WordPress themes that require a self hosted website (unless you have the WordPress Business plan), it would be a little weird if I didn’t also have a self hosted website. So I want to share with you what I use for my self hosted website and why. When I started setting it up, I had never done it before, but thankfully, my dad had had his own site for years and knew how to set it up. He also had been working with the same hosting company and suggested I do the same.

Now, like the blogpost I linked to in my resources page shows there are many different web hosting companies that you can use and its up to you which one you want to use but the one that I chose to work with is: eBoundhost.

When I needed help getting started my dad told me about eBoundhost, saying, “I’ve been working with them for years. They are affordable, have great customer service, and you can have unlimited email addresses even with the most basic of hosting packages.” Trusting my dad, I decided to go for it. I was glad I did because it turned out to be a great service.

Eboundhost has many different packages, but with the basic classic packages you have two options: One & Unlimited. With the classic hosting packages they promise (these are things I grabbed from their website):

  • Insanely Fast
  • 100% Uptime Guarantee
  • Nightly Security Updates
  • Top-Notch Support
  • Easy Migration
  • Cup-of-Coffee Pricing (One is $1 per month & Unlimited is $4 per month)

I originally chose the One package just based on price as well as thinking it had all I needed. But after about a week I learned that I needed more things and upgraded to the Unlimited package. The setup was fairly simple and easy. It can be a little confusing but if you are having any problem or have a question, you can always reach out to their support team via phone or email to get help. Which leads me to my main point.

Their customer service is amazing. I had a couple things that got messed up (mainly because I forgot to write down a password before refreshing a page) and that I couldn’t figure out how to fix on my own and it was so helpful to be able talk to someone and see what was going on. When I called I got in touch with someone right away, and when I emailed them I got a response in less than an hour. It was so helpful to be able to get help right away. As well as, it is great knowing that someone can explain something to you if you don’t understand it.

I also like all the features that eBoundhost offers. With their Unlimited package (as well as One), it is so easy to set up a WordPress site and get started. Just a couple clicks of a button and I had a new site that I could start putting together. They also offer an unlimited amount of email addresses you can create. You just add whatever you want to @yourdomain.com and you have a very professional looking email address ready to go.

So that is the web hosting service I use. I hope that maybe you will try it out to (also this post and the links are not affiliate links, I just wanted to share my experience with you). I have only been using it for a month or so, so I’m still new and will probably share updates and things I’ve learned along the way.

Hope this helps and you have a wonderful day!
